All you want to do is be on vacation and that’s not possible. What to do?? Well, if you are truly looking for that vacation feel, you and your family need to head to Rumor’s Restaurant, located in the heart of Middletown. Upon arriving and entering, you will instantly get that feeling that you sitting in a beachfront restaurant and you’ll be looking out the windows for the sand, ocean and palm trees! Your colorfully clad server will greet you with the new drink menu filled with great beach drinks such as Rum Runners, Bahama Mama’s, Bellini’s, great margaritas and frozen drinks, and an enhanced wine and beer list. In the distance you hear great beach music from the 60’s & 70’s. Then you pick up the menu and order an appetizer to start your mini vacation. Lucky you!!! There are great selections of fresh shucked oysters on the half shell, an array of shrimp dishes, BLT dip, smoked tuna spread, fried pickles, spinach con queso, etc.. Go ahead and order your appetizer while you eyeball the rest of the menu and rubberneck for friends and family that may have already beat you here. As you glance over the menu, your family will be delighted to find many items to choose from. For the health conscious, you can select from an array of large dinner salads, from Grilled Chicken Caesar, Rumors Chef Salad, or the Chicken Crisp Salad. For fun family food to share, you may want to start with a platter of Rumors famous chicken wings, served in quantities of 10, 20, or 50. There are plenty of sandwiches and baskets also. The oversized grouper sandwich, or the hand breaded cod sandwich are great selections that scream Florida! Half pound burgers, grilled chicken breast, marinated pork tenderloin, turkey and steak phillies are just a few other sandwich selections. If you really love seafood, then you have come to the right place. Dungeness crablegs, breaded crawfish tails, steaming platters of spicy gulf shrimp, fried oysters, shrimp and clamstrips, and frothing buckets of roasted gulf coast oysters are but a few of the samplings from the deep blue sea. Take a break and go on vacation. You deserve it The only thing missing is the sand between your toes. Buy a souvenir t-shirt as you leave to remind you of your trip!
